General gaming post

Monday, July 2nd, 2007

I haven’t written that much recently. So just what is the current state of play? The lure of overtime temporarily KO’d a lot of my gaming activities, but I’ve been playing Civ IV, Dancing Stage Mario Mix (what curtains were invented for!), Resident Evil 4 and I’ve just picked up a copy of More Brain Training (apparently my Brain Age is a disappointing 42 :-( ). Plus the perennial Wario ware and Mario Party sessions with the kids.

What have we been playing this afternoon?

Green elephant - Got!

I only had to complete 10 games on yellow elephant - which leaves me feeling a little sorry for #1 (his best on yellow elephant is 9 games). It is only to be expected (but still seems weird), but one of my kids has reached the point where he can beat me at video games. #1 is already better than me at Wii Sports.

The green elephant level isn’t sudden death (like the yellow elephant) - you have four lives, but this time games start without telling you how to hold the form baton.

This morning #2 unlocked an elephant level that I hadn’t - a yellow one. This level is sudden death, i.e. complete as many games as you can without making any mistakes. I’ve now rectified the situation :) and I now have a yellow elephant as well.

We also had our first go at multiplayer wario ware - there is a very funny game where two players have to cooperatively complete an obstacle course jumping over obstacles.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves - Multiplayer UNLOCKED!

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

I eventually worked out how to get past the sword boss (16 points. I needed to give a quick push - rather than attempt a steady one!), which unlocked the Tiny Wario level (19 points) which I completed fairly easily (the dancing boss stage was probably not a pretty sight!). I now have unlocked multiplayer, a mix up stage, staff credits (very Mii like - except their Miis have nice clothes) and Orbulon (whatever that is).

Hmm, far too many parentheses, but I can’t be bothered to rewrite this.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

I’ve completed 9-volt’s level with 15 points. I haven’t completed Jimmy P, I can get to the boss, but then fail; the boss is wielding a sword and I can defend myself for a while, but then I’m told to push - and it all goes wrong. Bah!
