’Twas Brillig*

Busy couple of days on Isle Defino. I finished Pianta Village Episode 7 with #2, we then went back and finished up to Episode 7 of Sirena Beach (we had got stuck on an early Yoshi based episode even though I’ve previously done it on my save) and we unlocked Corona Mountain. Disturbingly the path through Corona Mountain reminded me of playing Crash Bandicoot, but was fairly easy - lots of timed jumps. At the end rocketed up to find Bowser, Bowser Jr and Peach in a hot tub floating in space - five rocket ground pounds and the hot tub is in pieces. Peach has been rescued. Game Complete!

Pianta Village Episode 2 (Il Piantissimo’s Crazy Climb) has been a sticking point for some time - I was playing on behalf of #2 when #1 suggested sliding Mario on his front (i.e. press B a lot) and we have cracked it. #2 now has 68 shines and I have 82 shines on my save (yay!).

After a long gap I’m playing SMS again. #2 wanted his own save so I’ve been working my way through the levels as well. I now have 78 shines and finally cleared Noki Bay - #1 (with a little help) cleared Noki Bay some time back.

I now have 65 shines on my save and on #1’s save we are up to 31. I got to the final episode of Ricco Harbour yesterday after being stuck on the secret of the tower for ever - I really do hate the “secret” levels.

I haven’t blogged for a bit, mainly because I haven’t done much gaming, that should change when I get my DS with MK and Zookeeper for Christmas and #1 gets Nintendogs. I’ve been playing Sonic Advance 2 on R’s GBA SP, Super Mario Sunshine (with and without #1), Mario Party with #1, Mario Kart with #1 and #2 and Sonic on the Xbox. I have really fallen out with the Xbox since it won’t play several games, I suspect #3 is to blame since several discs have large scratches on them.

I wanted to play Knights of the Old Republic but the Xbox was having none of it so I played on Gelato Beach. I collected the shine for episode 8 and then had a go at getting to 100 coins - only achieved 87 (bugger) even though I could see where there were some more. Nevermind it doesn’t look impossible.

I’ve been playing a game in parallel to the one with #1, ostensibly to have some idea what is coming up, but Sunday showed I was lagging. I spent this evening playing catch up I now have 28 shines compared to our main game’s 21 :). The secret of the yoshi merrygoround on Pinna Park is starting to annoy me - I get near the end and die horribly.

Back to SMS with #1, lots of Pinna Park and we finally got Yoshi.

Played with #1 and completed Petey Piranha Strikes Back (which was enjoyable) and Wiggler Ahoy! Full Steam Ahead! (which was kind of annoyingly repetitive).

Post swimming game of SMS with #1 (and #2 watching), #1 does all the running about and I do the hard work, mostly spent on Red Coins of Windmill Village (AWOOGAH! spoilers) , since we took ages finding the last coin. After that #1 spent some more blue coins and we had a look at Mecha-Bowser Appears! (AWOOGAH! Spoilers) which kind of scares me.
