Super Mario 64 DS

Saturday, November 4th, 2006

Super Mario 64 DS Box ArtI haven’t mentioned it before, but the kids’ DS playing revolves around Super Mario 64 DS. Currently #2 has more stars than #1 which has might have something to do with his playing style being to navigate one of the characters around the castle and then ask dad to find a star. My save has 69 stars, #2 has 75 and #1 has 33.

Animal Crossing

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

Well, by the end of today I had collected 216 acorns having collected a forest wall (so I was expecting the forest floor to be next). There were no more acorns in Lancre, but fortunately my eldest hadn’t created a major orchard and had lots of non-fruit trees with lots of acorns and after his collecting had 16 acorns left - two more than I needed - and now I have the forest floor.

Nintendo DS Browser

Via youtube. Hopefully Nintendo/Opera will release a localised version in the not too distant future, it may be slow but, the idea of using gmail from my DS does appeal.

Brain Age - Sudoku

Friday, July 7th, 2006

I’ve unlocked the advanced sudoku and to top it off my first puzzle was finished in 13min 14sec giving me an “Amazing!!” animation with a starship.

Brain Age

Friday, June 23rd, 2006

This is my other regular “game” and my brain age varies between the mid thirties (my real age is 37) and the mid twenties. The last few days I’ve been getting really good calculation x20 speeds (down to 17 seconds - and I don’t see how I can write much faster); voice calculation is evil since I have to really concentrate on saying eight (I suspect it doesn’t understand estuary “eigh’”).

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Friday, June 23rd, 2006

I just can’t be bothered to write about the daily goings on in Lancre, but last night I sold 10,000 turnips to Nook the crook for 180 bells each (purchased at 94 a piece) which gave me plenty of spare cash to pay off the last of mortgage.

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Friday, April 28th, 2006

The story so far:
w/e 8 April - Verence won the flower festival and made a little bit of money on turnips
w/e 15 April - no turnips but lots of harvesting and letter writing
w/e 22 April - massive loss on turnips (bought 100 at 104 bells and saturday evening sold them at 59 bells each) lots of harvesting and fishing
this week - bought 800 turnips at 99 bells each, sold last night for 499 bells each, Lancre now has lots of fruit trees and I can pay off my second mortgage, although I’m very tempted to put half my profits back into turnips.

Brain Age

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

This arrived from movietyme (US version for £12.99) and apparently my brain age is 73, #2 wandering in and talking to me during the initial stroop test may not have helped. I did some training and sudoku, thankfully for the calculation training I was jet speed - anything else and I’d have to send my PhD back.

Polarium - Puzzle Mode Finished

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

On the 26th January I wrote I just had one more puzzle to go and last night I completed it. Its not like I’ve been devoting time to it - Mario Kart, Tony Hawk’s and Animal Crossing all share the blame. At some point I’ll improve my challenge mode scores, D- is my best rank so far, which is, I suspect, pitiful.

Animal Crossing: Wild World

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

This turned up for #1 on Saturday and wanting someone else to play with I bought a copy as well which means I now I have three animal crossing characters on the go (two on the cube), is that too much? We will just have to see. Anyway I have paid off my first mortgage and old Nook is upgrading as I write. It is currently flower festival week so I’m busy buying as many flowers as Nook will sell me. I’m also doing lots of fishing.
