Google Reader

Well, it’s been two weeks since the update and I can honestly say the new look Google Reader is much better than the old one - so much so I’ve moved all my non-work feeds back to it (work feeds have to be ignored since they’re on the intranet). According to the Google Operating System, that is when I will run out of gmail space - of course by then several of the development mailing lists I subscribe to will be only interesting from an historical perspective. The result does not make sense to me - since last April (when the space was increased to 2GB and the constant space increase started) I have used 400MB and the space has increased to 2.755GB, i.e. I keep storing email at a lower rate than space is added and so should never run out of space.

Update: It would appear that at some point the rate of gmail space increase dropped significantly.

…is taking over my life. First it was the just a search engine, then groups (by buying the much missed deja), then I started using the toolbar in IE, then gmail, then blogger, then their personal homepage, then I started using the toolbar in Firefox and now it’s Picasa. It’s hard to say which company I rely on more Google, Microsoft or Sun.
