Lack of updates

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

Blimey - you can almost see the tumbleweed round here.

I can’t promise regular blogging, since I seem to have other things on my mind - I have an idea for something I’d like to try writing in Rails, the day job is in need of overtime and I’m not playing as many games as I’d like.

In the mean time a couple of posts on what I’ve played since Christmas.

Connection issues

My blog seems to have developed a cold - I keep getting the following message - and I have no idea how to cure it.

As a result of the above I upgraded the blog last night, and the problem is still there, but it is intermittent - with enough refreshes it goes away for a bit.

Redesign - take 2

Sunday, November 12th, 2006

Both subsites now share a common header design - there are slight CSS problems, but I’ll deal with them later. The family history subsite needs a proper overhaul, but time is an issue. I also got round to updating the version of PhpGedView to 4.02 and changing the default individual for non logged in users to my paternal granddad.

Redesign

Friday, November 10th, 2006

I’ve created my own theme, and luckily it seems to work. Hopefully it’ll come across as a cleaner design and I’ll be able to carry some of it over to the family history subsite. Menus were nicked from mozilla.com and the style is a mutation of the default WordPress theme.

WordPress 2.0.5 - Ronan

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

Being a typical developer I’ve broken the “if it ain’t broke, don’t upgrade” rule and this site is now using the recently released WordPress 2.0.5. Only one problem so far I’ve modified the default theme and it has also been updated for this release - nothing major and I think I’ve moved all my changes in.

My domain is now live, it currently redirects to this blog, but also houses my genealogy pages and maybe more in time.
