Yay! Argos delivered the Wii on Friday.
Boo! It is a Christmas present.
Yay! I obviously had to check that it works.
It really is tiny and it can be used horizontally - which means it can go in the space currently used by the gamecube. I didn’t actually play anything, I configured the WiFi connection and added the Wii to the MAC filtering, which was immediately followed by a firmware update (which seemed to last forever), I then had a look at the available virtual console titles (I’m currently tempted by Ecco the Dolphin and Bomberman ‘93) and finally I created a Mii. The News, Weather and Internet Channels aren’t yet available, but I guess they’ll follow soon - presumably they need some final testing before going live.
The Wiimote takes a bit of getting used to, but I really don’t think it’s very different from learning to use a mouse.
Oh yes, those numbers are the Wii Friend code - which is also used in the Wii’s email address.
Update 03-Jan-2007: Gaz has posted his Wii Friend Code - I’ll add it soon

Very good. Visit the shop, even if you don’t fancy spending any money, and download the extra channels - the Wii version of Opera is pretty good.

Indeed. I was impressed to see^W hear that last.fm works with the Wii. Also, the on-screen keyboard works well. It’s only taken me 3 minutes to type this eith the Wiimote.
